STH COMMENTARY:
In many ways Peonie’s frequent nude scenes have both helped and hindered EXIERN’s success.
I was hoping that addressing this subject would work towards creating a metafictional understanding about the subject.
However, I don’t think that intention fully landed, and I cringe a little at a few of the jokes.

STH COMMENTARY:
When CHIBIERN started there was a lot of chatter about what to call the characters. The most popular name thrown around was “Chibionie” for Princess Peonie. I had never seriously considered naming each character as a variation on the comic’s title, because “Chinver” is a name that can only be used if Bruce Campbell is playing the character.

STH COMMENTARY:
Sage advice from ChibiDenver, since the original update schedule fell to pieces within about a month.
Honestly, that was longer than I had expected it to last.
Also, I think this is the first time either of their sprites changed.

STH COMMENTARY:
The ESCa was the old EXIERN membership website, and it had an ad box nearby where CHIBIERN originally posted on exiern.com.
I also think they could probably grip a sword WAY better than they could a crayon.

STH COMMENTARY:
When CHIBIERN launched it appeared directly under the ProjectWonderful button ads, which were hosted beneath the main EXIERN comic.
In hindsight, tying a comic’s joke to its location on a website may not have been the greatest of ideas.
